The Donald Rumsfeld Diet

Donald Rumsfeld recently said this about the prisoners who are on a hungerstrike at Gitmo:

There are a number of people who go on a diet where they don't eat for a period and then go off of it at some point…

Like when they starve themselves to death. Or you force feed them.

Oh yeah, those prisoners are on a diet (wink, wink, nudge nudge).

Just like:

Bush is the most brilliant person Harriet Miers has ever met.

Cheney has no conflict of interest with Haliburton.

Scooter Libby's a patriot.

Rove isn’t the spawn of Satan.

Brownie was doing a heck of a job in New Orleans.

And Ann Coulter’s a woman.

Can we please get these people out of power now and get on with our lives before they destroy us all? Just asking…

Won't happen while the lowest common denominator keeps buying the crap they are selling. I'm wondering just how much more they are going to take.

Indy Girl - The prisoners were protesting the brutality at Gitmo. They weren't observing Ramadan. And even if they were observing Ramadan - where they fast during the day and eat after sundown - what was the Army doing trying to force feed them? To frustrate their religious beliefs?

sfchick74 - The lowest common denominator may keep buying the crap because they're just as disfunctional as the Republicans. But, if we keep getting the word out, it will have an effect. Look at the recent poll numbers. Opinion is changing. What I worry about is how the Republicans are willing to lie, cheat and rig elections to get their way. In Virgina, some Republican group is putting out a phony Kaine message, splicing together statements Kaine has made out of context to make him appear more conservative than he really is. They will stop at nothing to win. The extremists in that party are a very dangerous.
