The Emperor May Be Arrested for Nudity

With nothing but failures and disasters in the wake of his Presidency, George Bush brought in the most powerful spin machine the office has ever seen. But one can cry wolf only so many times before the public begins noticing that the wolves have been hunted into extinction and only the boy is left, alone, with his gun desperately aiming at ghosts.

Judging from the blistering analyses in Time, Newsweek, and elsewhere these past few days, it turns out that Bush is in fact fidgety, cold and snappish in private. He yells at those who dare give him bad news and is therefore not surprisingly surrounded by an echo chamber of terrified sycophants. He is slow to comprehend concepts that don't emerge from his gut. He is uncomprehending of the speeches that he is given to read."

I know the grin you mean. It's usually accompanied by the tone of voice that implies How many times do I have to explain this to you? Am I the only one who nearly fell over when he said, "...New Orleans will rise from the ashes."
